The purpose of grout—the material between tiles that fills in the spaces—is to give strength to the tilework. It is applied after the tile is laid down and is squeezed into the gaps. Generally composed of a mixture of water, cement and sand or gravel, grout is a porous material, and, once it is installed, it absorbs any liquid that comes its way. For this reason, grout must be sealed after it is applied or cleaned in order to prevent stains, mildew and mold.
Because grout sealing is a difficult, tedious process, most cleaning companies don’t include it as part of their services. Typically, these companies will clean the grout and leave behind a bottle of sealer for the customers to apply—something they rarely have time to do. Thus, the grout goes unsealed and the work doesn’t last.
At Pro Carpet Care, we want to make sure that your grout stays clean and protected for as long as possible. That is why we take on the sealing process for you, making sure that the project is fully completed. Using only eco-friendly, green products that are safe for you and the environment, we seal the grout and prevent outside moisture from seeping in and creating stains and mildew.
